2018 IABC Gold Quill Award and 2017 Atlanta Golden Flame Award:Â Special Events
Along with ACS colleagues, I was honored by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) with a 2018 IABC Gold Quill Award and 2017 IABC Atlanta Golden Flame Award for excellence in planning and executing a special event, a special edition 'Society Talk' live talk show program for staff and volunteer leaders.
The Gold Quill Award, the highest honor bestowed by IABC, honors communications professionals at the international level. For the Atlanta chapter Golden Flame Award, our team received Gold Level status, the highest possible level.
In June 2016, the successful production of a special edition 'Society Talk' program gave several senior staff and volunteer leaders the opportunity to discuss the vision for a new American Cancer Society in front of a live audience in a theater and viewers watching online from across the country. Watch the full program (and fast forward, if necessary).

IABC Atlanta Golden Flame Award:Â Change Communications
Along with ACS colleagues, I was honored with a 2017 IABC Atlanta Golden Flame Award for excellence in change communications, ranked at the Gold Level (the highest possible level). The award was given for our strategic communications work related to launching our CEO's vision for a new American Cancer Society and the case for change, which involved multiple types of communications and measurable results, including a special edition of our 'Society Talk' monthly talk show.

IABC Southern Region Silver Quill Award:Â Internal Communications
As part of the CARE Internal Communications Team, I was honored with a 2006 IABC Southern Region Silver Quill Award for excellence in internal communications. This award was given for our planning and execution of a new feature on CARE's intranet, "My First 100 Days," that helped introduce our new CEO to staff. We developed blog entries detailing her activities during her first 100 days, and provided a feature for staff to ask questions and get answers from her.
