Work Experience
My Career
Internal Communications at Invesco
I currently serve as a Communications Consultant on the internal communications team at the Atlanta headquarters of Invesco, a leading global investment firm. My responsibilities include managing Global News stories on the company's intranet home page, editing a weekly newsletter for staff at a firm soon to combine with Invesco, and managing production of high-profile video projects.
Internal Communications at Boys & Girls Clubs of America
I served as a Senior Digital Communications Specialist at Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In this role, I developed internal communications strategies to more effectively reach and engage staff nationwide through digital solutions. These strategies supported initiatives such as improving governance of email distributions to large groups and driving more users to the organization's intranet.
Internal Communications at the American Cancer Society
I served as Director, Internal News and Events for the American Cancer Society, a health nonprofit organization. In that role, I was responsible for directing production of over 25 episodes of the award-winning 'Society Talk,' an interactive monthly live video talk show broadcast via the Internet to American Cancer Society staff and volunteer leaders nationwide, sharing timely updated on high-priority organizational programs and activities.
Previously, I served as Managing Director, ACS Internal News. In that role, I was responsible for management of the ACS intranet, e-newsletters, and other projects to share timely information with staff nationwide.
External communications at the American Cancer Society
As a Senior Consultant, Communications Stragegy Planning, I formulated communications strategies and tactics to support ACS income development, multicultural engagement, and global cancer prevention. This included managing a first-ever comprehensive corporate relations initiative to redevelop more than 100 ACS sales materials to increase organizational revenue.
As Manager, International Communications, I promoted ACS international programs to external audiences by strategically developing and sharing content through multiple communications channels. I also managed ACS live events held in venues outside the United States.
Internal communications at CARE
I managed multiple high-profile internal communications projects at CARE, an international nonprofit focused on poverty alleviation outside the United States. Handling internal communications at CARE involved unique challenges which I successfully met, mainly because the majority of CARE staff are based in offices outside the U.S. with limited technical capabilities.
External and internal communications at The World Bank
I managed a variety of external and internal communications projects in two roles at The World Bank, an international development agency. In The World Bank's External Affairs Department, I determined which types of timely information and relevant documents on Bank programs could be shared with clients worldwide based on the Bank's disclosure policy.
In The World Bank's Environment Protection Department, I managed an advisory service that provided information in response to requests from external and internal clients, developed department web pages and trained colleagues how to update such pages, and represented the department at information fairs.
